What is a facelift?

With age, there is a loss of malar bone support and atrophy of the facial fat compartments. The nasolabial folds, melolabial folds , and prejowls become more pronounced, resulting in an aged appearance. Similarly, in the cervical region, there is a loss of mandibular bone support, increased platysmal muscle tone, and skin laxity, leading to the development of a double chin and a loss of jawline definition.

A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to reposition facial volumes that have sagging, improve skin laxity, redefine the shape of the facial oval and the appearance of the neck.

FaceArt Lifting Techniques:

At FaceArt, we offer different facial and neck lifting techniques to adapt to the specific needs of each patient:

Deep plane lifting : The most advanced technique for achieving long-lasting, natural-looking results in face and neck lifts. This technique repositions the deep tissues of the face and neck, providing comprehensive and long-lasting rejuvenation without applying tension to the skin, thus preventing poor scarring and short-lived results.
Neck lift: Surgery limited to the neck, to correct the "double chin", platysmal bands and improve the cervicofacial angle.
Mini-lifting or weekend facelift: Surgery with reduced incisions, with a faster recovery, indicated for young patients or those with moderate signs of aging.

Lip lift: To correct excessive length of the upper lip, with little exposure of the incisors at rest or when smiling, and to improve the appearance of the vermilion border and Cupid's bow.

Complementary treatments:

We usually combine the lifting treatment with complementary procedures including: chin liposuction, lipofilling (fat grafts to add volume), CO2 laser resurfacing or chemical peeling.

Surgical details of the FaceArt facelift:

Surgical time: The surgical time for a deep plane cervicofacial facelift is between 3-4 hours.
Anesthesia: General anesthesia in an outpatient surgery setting.
Incisions: The incisions are made in inconspicuous areas, such as behind the ear or in the submental fold.
Hospitalization : Hospitalization is not required. The patient can return home after a few hours in the clinic's post-anesthesia care unit.

FaceArt facelift recovery:

The postoperative period of a cervicofacial lift usually requires relative rest for the first 10-15 days, following the postoperative recommendations that our team will offer you.

Swelling and bruising: It is normal to experience swelling and bruising in the operated area, which will be reabsorbed within the first 2 weeks.
Discomfort: You may experience some mild discomfort in the operated area, which can be easily controlled with common painkillers.
Results : The final results of the FaceArt facelift are noticeable after 3 months, when the swelling has completely disappeared.
